Laughter is the best medicine

Today we will touch the topic of Laughter. There are lots of articles on this topic, but in this blog we will discuss the essence of it.

Meaning
Everyone knows the meaning of it, but still needs some clarification. Laughter here simply means; laughing innocently like a child. Reasons may be needed or may not be needed. It doesn’t matter.

Stages of Laughter
1.   Initially we put an effort to laugh(I and Existence are different). This happens at most of the laughter clubs. Most of them stop at this point. They are not able to go the next stage. This stage has it own advantage.
2.   Suddenly laughter takes us over (Existence enters us. There is no I). This is the most beautiful experience.
3.   There is only laughter (I get merged in Existence. There is oneness). This is the ultimate experience.

Types of Laughter
1.   When you laugh at someone else. This is the meanest, the lowest, the most ordinary and vulgar when you laugh at the expense of somebody else. This is the violent, the aggressive, the insulting type Deep down this laughter there is always a feeling of revenge.
2.   When you laugh at yourself. This is worth achieving. This is cultured.  And this man is valuable who can laugh at himself. He has risen above vulgarity. He has risen above lowly instincts – hatred, aggression, violence."
3.   This is not about anybody – neither the other nor oneself. It is just Cosmic. You laugh at the whole situation as it is. The whole situation, as it is, is absurd  – no purpose in the future, no beginning in the beginning. The whole situation of Existence is such that if you can see the Whole – such a great infinite vastness moving toward no fixed purpose, no goal – laughter will arise. If you can see this whole Cosmos, then a laughter is inevitable. “

What happens when we laugh:
Physical Benefits
  • All our muscles and nerves are relaxed
  • We become healthy
  • Our breath becomes more deep and relaxed
  • Our eyes starts having tears which is good for eyes
Mind Benefits
  • Our mind which gets entangled in unnecessary and involuntary continuous association of thoughts gets suddenly broken. Energy which was going to unnecessary thoughts will move towards your real self (consciousness).
  • Our mind becomes healthy
  • Lots of vision and foresight becomes available
Spiritual Reasons
  • The sex energy which is stored at the Muladhara/Swadhisthana Chakra (refer Chakras, Yoga and Healing) rises to Sahasrara (Crown Chakra). Lot of Hatha Yogis do tough [Sadhnas] to achieve the above. It is said that life opens new dimensions / secrets when our energy is at this state.

Why we don’t laugh often
  • Society conditioning especially the East
  • Stress and Tension. Our energy is focused on stress and tensions. It’s a vicious circle.

How to laugh
Just see the laughter clubs which are operating. It has become today more as a ritual or a technique, which is helpful to a certain extent, but lacks feeling and the real essence.

When we really laugh, our face becomes relaxed, our lips has a relaxed emotions. Our belly (naval) starts vibrating or moving randomly. Our body becomes like a hollow bamboo or like a grass which is flexible. We may have tears in our eyes.

In the end, I would like to state that don’t catch the words, but just see what the words are pointing to.
