Teacher v/s Guru

Initially in a quest for inner journey, I was confused with Teacher and Guru. I used to think both are same. But as wisdom dawned, I realized that, they both are separate. So I thought to pen down these differences, which may really help someone. I sincerely thank the person from where I got most of the points.

Teacher
Guru
Teacher means [Shikshak] [Acharya]
[Guru] [Sadguru] means Master. Some people take Guru synonymously as Teacher. For them we can take Master as [Sadguru].
Takes responsibility for your growth
Makes you responsible for your growth
Gives you things you do not have and require.
Takes away things you have and do not require.
Answers your questions.
Questions your answers.
Helps you get out of the maze.
Destroys the maze.
Requires obedience and discipline from the pupil.
Requires trust and humility from the pupil.
Clothes you and prepares you for the outer journey.
Strips you naked and prepares you for the inner journey.
Is a guide on the path.
Is a pointer to the way.
Sends you on the road to success.
Sends you on the road to freedom.
Explains the world and its nature to you.
Explains yourself and your nature to you.
Makes you understand how to move about in the world.
Shows you where you stand in relation to the world.
Gives you knowledge and boosts your ego.
Takes away your knowledge and punctures your ego.
Instructs you.
Constructs you.
Sharpens your mind.
Opens your mind.
Shows you the way to prosperity.
Shows you the way to posterity.
Reaches your mind.
Touches your spirit.
Gives you knowledge.
Makes you wise.
Gives you maturity.
Returns you to innocence
Instructs you on how to solve problems.
Shows you how to come above issues.
Is a systematic thinker.
Is a lateral thinker.
Punishes you with a stick, if needed.
Punishes you with compassion.
What a father is to son.
What mother is to her child.
One can always find a teacher.
But a Guru has to find and accept you.
When a teacher finishes with you, you celebrate.
When a Guru finishes with you, life celebrates.
You are thankful to the teacher.
You are grateful to the Guru.

If you are clear between the differences and interested in your inner journey do read:

Wisdom Pointer:

Once you are ready, you will be thrown into the open sky. A Master's house is just a training place where you get ready, but it is not the final home. It is where you get ready, and then the Master throws you into the sky because there is the final home, in total freedom – in moksha. A Master is helpful just on the way. Before the temple of the Divine, he will suddenly leave you. Before the temple of the Divine, he will push you in, and if you look back you will not find him any more, he will not be there – because with the Divine you have to be alone. The work of the Master is completed.

What is Real Charity (Story)?

Today we hear about charity and people donating etc… It seems to be nice but honestly is it real charity or just a fulfillment of ego. The below story will give us an insight about charity. It is very interesting…

A very nice story  from Mahabharat – from Tinkle magazine about Karna about helping others as follows:

Once Krishna and Arjuna were walking towards a village. Arjuna was pestering Krishna, asking him why Karna should be considered a role model for all Danas (donations) and not himself.

Krishna, wanting to teach him a lesson snapped his fingers. The mountains beside the path they were walking on turned into gold. Krishna said "Arjuna, distribute these two mountains of gold among the villagers, but you must donate every last bit of gold".

Arjuna went into the village, and proclaimed he was going to donate gold to every villager, and asked them to gather near the mountain. The villagers sang his praises and Arjuna walked towards the mountain with a huffed up chest. For two days and two continuous nights Arjuna shoveled gold from the mountain and donated to each villager. The mountains did not diminish in their slightest.

Most villagers came back and stood in queue within minutes. After a while, Arjuna, started feeling exhausted, but not ready to let go of his ego just yet, told Krishna he couldn't go on any longer without rest.

Krishna called Karna. "You must donate every last bit of this mountain, Karna" he told him. Karna called two villagers. "You see those two mountains?" Karna asked, "those two mountains of gold are yours to do with as you please" he said,  and walked away.

Arjuna sat dumbfounded. Why hadn't this thought occurred to him? Krishna smiled mischievously and told him "Arjuna, subconsciously,  you yourself were attracted to the gold, you regretfully gave it away to each villager, giving them what you thought was a generous amount. Thus the size of your donation to each villager depended only on your imagination.

Karna holds no such reservations. Look at him walking away after giving away a fortune, he doesn't expect people to sing his praises, he doesn't even care if people talk good or bad about him behind his back. That is the sign of a man already on the path of enlightenment. That is Real Charity.

Just see the world. People build hospitals etc. with their name. It is good, but it is not real charity. It is just a fulfillment of their Ego. Arise, awake and understand Real Charity.

Wisdom Pointer:

Real Charity cannot be borrowed or practiced. Only when we know our self, then real charity will flow automatically.

How to Remove Evil Eye

After writing my previous blog “Art of being silent”, I realized that actually I have become silent. So after a break I have started writing again. Sometimes what we write we actually become that, may be for a short period of time. But then life moves on….

So just to start, I thought to take this topic “How to remove Evil Eye”

What it means ?
Evil Eye is a curse believed to be cast by a malevolent (having or showing a wish to do evil to others) glare, usually given to a person when they are unaware. The term is generally used to indicate negative vibes or emotions such as hatred, jealousy and others that can generate harmful energies to deter growth or good results. It can be done intentionally or unintentionally also.

How does it enter?
It enters via our 4. Psychic Body State (refer 7 States of Human Being)

What are the symptoms?
Physical
  • Loss of appetite
  • Vomiting
  • Dysentery
Mind
  • Feeling weak or depressed
  • Mood Swings
  • Headaches
  • Loss of concentration
The above symptoms affect all aspects of our life including spirituality.

The Technique?
  • Take 1 Red Chilly and some Rock white salt in your right hand
  • Rotate it from the head to the waist level in a circular clock wise direction, to the effected person.
  • While Rotating it repeat the following mantra
    • “Asaa  Uun Abhurun Nazmaeen. “Asaa  Uun Naas Yajmaeen”
  • Repeat it for 5 minutes (approx)
  • Preferably To be done at 12:00 noon or 6 pm to 7 pm (evening)
  • Throw the Chilly and salt in the toilet and flush it.
  • If possible take a bath with one spoon or more of white rock salt in the water. It means instead of taking a shower, take a bucket of water and take bath.

How many times?
The above technique should be done for 3 days consecutively (for better results). Sometimes the evil eye is very strong and may take maximum of 3 days. If you feel better in the first time, stop it

Key points:
  • First consult your doctor and see if it is resolved by medicines. If not and if you think that everything was fine and suddenly you get the above symptoms follow the technique.
  • Even if you do this, there are no side effects and no much money involved.
  • Children are more affected by evil eye as they are more vulnerable, sensitive and delicate than adults.
  • Two persons are involved. One (the affected party) the second one (healer/remover).
  • Do it once in 6 months for cleaning any negative energies accumulated.

Wisdom Pointer:

Sometimes small and simple techniques, even if we don’t believe but followed,  can change our life.
