What is our Real Search?

Today everyone is searching for something. Let us try to introspect exactly what are we searching for.

Broadly there are 2 types of search.
1. Survival Search: Search for Basic, Mundane requirements/needs. E.g. Searching for a movie, Tasty food, booking a plane ticket etc. I am not talking about this search.

2. Real Search: Once our basic requirements/needs are satisfied, we find that still our search is on. We want a better car, better house, better work etc. We are never completely satisfied. It means that there is always something that we are searching. Trust me even if you have all the facilities of life, still you will be searching. Currently you are viewing this blog, searching for something.

Before I move forward, I request you to close your eyes or take a pause and contemplate; what are you exactly searching for. Write it in a piece of paper and then continue reading.

Just take a Pause ******************.

I hope you have tried to contemplate and written down what are you searching. So let us continue now…

Let me take you to a different dimension. I will be using the word “You”, in order to get a glimpse of what you are searching. No offense meant.

Your Mother conceives. 3 months for the womb to stabilize. You come into her womb at the end of the 3rd month. 6 months you are in the womb. You do nothing. Just relax. All the necessary nutrients is provided by your mother. Just feel the position of you lying  comfortably in the womb. You will be in the following state:

  • You do nothing, no struggle, even for food or breath.
  • You are in an ultimate relaxed position and situation.
  • You have no mind of your own.
  • You feel secured.
  • You feel warmth and love of your mother.
  • You feel a tremendous sense of belonging.
  • You and your mother are not separate. There is a feeling of oneness.
  • You are Self (no-mind).
9 months get over. You come out of the womb. You are still attached with the umbilical cord. Then the doctor comes and cuts the umbilical cord. The struggle has begun. You cry, people smile that you have come into being. What an irony? For 6 months you were self and then suddenly you are disconnected in a very haphazard manner.  It’s a big shock. You are searching for the same state but you don’t know how to go back.

Mind develops after age 4 years (approx.). Then the whole problem starts. Mind is needed for external world and we try to use it for everything, even to enter in inner world. We are subconsciously searching the way to enter in the same state and on the top we have started using a wrong way i.e. our mind. Mind misleads us. Therefore our real search gets confused.

Deep inside we are searching for the same state, that we were in the womb viz.
  • Security
  • Love
  • Warmth
  • Belonging
  • Oneness
  • No-mind
  • Self
  • Peace
  • Bliss
Wisdom Pointer: With sincere introspection only you will come to know your real search. First know your real search and then move towards it.
