How to Bless

Blessing

Blessing is a way of connecting to the divine and passing the divine / cosmic power to the needed one, who is currently incapable of  getting it due to his/her own mental or physic or energy blocks.

There are 3 parts in a Blessings.
1.   Blesser (Person who gives Blessing)
2.   Blessings (Divine Power)
3.   Receiver of Blessing (Person)

How to Bless

  • Receiver will sit or stand where his/her head will be near the heart level of the Blesser with eyes closed.
  • Before giving Blessing the Blesser should do any meditation which will make them Natural [Sahaj]. Their breath will be slow and deep
  • Start : Blesser will close their eyes and invoke their Guru or deity whom they trust by chanting the following Mantra
    • GURUR BRAHMA, GURUR VISHNU, GURUR DEVO MAHESHWARAH, GURUR SAAKSHAAT PARA-BRAHMA, TASMAI SHRI GURUVE NAMAH (1 time). OR
    • Jai Gurudev (3 times)
  • Blesser will place their hands warmly on the head of the Receiver as shown in the above figure for a few moments
  • If they are sensitive then both of them can feel the divine energy flowing. Although a bit difficult for the mind to understand.
  • Close :  Blesser will chant the following Mantra to Close the Blessing
    • Om Namah Shivay (3 times)
  • Both of them can open their eyes now.
Key Points:
  • Blesser is only any instrument to pass necessary divine energy to the receiver. Blesser does not pass their energy. If they pass then that is not blessing.
  • E.g. A Person (Receiver) Drinking Water (Divine Energy) through a straw (Blesser)
  • There is a huge possibility that the blesser may enter into ego trap. A blesser should be very cautious about this and they should be aware that they are only instruments of the divine.
  • It is a wrong notion that Blessing belongs only to a particular religion or Guru. It is the divine / cosmic energy through which we get blessings.
  • Blessing can be given to anyone by anyone, the key is that the Blesser should be in a natural state of being.
  • Never give blessing to anyone who do not have trust in blessings, because  their mind will block any divine energy flowing to them.
  • Being sensitive is one of the key for blessings.

Zen is not bothered about anything superhuman; its whole concern is how to make ordinary life a blessing. - Osho
