Gratitude-The Ultimate Key



We are being taught to say thanks since childhood when we receive something of our interest (tangible or intangible). It’s like a business deal. Just see at the end of an email or letter, Thanks… No feeling, no conviction most of the time, just a formality.

What is dictionary Gratitude?
“The quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.”

What is Real Gratitude?
“Just being thankful [Ahobhav] with pure feeling, awe, awareness,  understanding and conviction”

Why Gratitude?
Today Man has become near what insane (although they appear sane) because of over focusing on mind [logic] attributes. It has lost the simple feelings and track of existence. If we are hungry then our body shouts, but if our soul is hungry there is no way we can get an indication. Only a person with feeling may know. Real Gratitude helps a person to come down from his mind to heart center. All miracles happen here.

How to express Gratitude?
This is not a technical question that can be answered, but the below small story may help you in throwing some light into it.

Small Story:
There was a person called David, who was totally bankrupt and has lost everything. A wise person approached him and said he could start from again.  
David said he had nothing, so how to start.
Wise man: David, Give me your one eye and I will give you $ 50,000/-
David: No
Wise man: Ok, then give me both of your eyes and I will give you $1,00,000/-
David: No, I cannot do that.

The wise man kept on negotiating with David about each of his body parts. But David said No.
Wise Man: David, do you understand what you have.

This David is none other than we (you). Although the situation may not be so bad, but the cribbing factor is always there.  We are so blind that we cannot even see or understand what existence has given us. If we understand, then automatically gratitude will flow.

Express gratitude wherever possible even to the tiniest of the things, circumstances, events or times. Gratitude can be to the existence, person, things, work and  even to our own self.

Key Points:

  • Real Gratitude can flow automatically only when we develop

o  Refer  Forgiving Attitude

  • Initially let the gratitude be for formality sake, but then slowly with awareness and understanding let it grow to Real Gratitude.

  • Living in gratitude means living in attunement with existence.
  • Complicated things cannot give us a blissful or peaceful life, but practicing simple, natural and authentic gratitude style of life can give us that.
