Best Book

There are a lot of books today written by different authors on various topics. And each author or book is promoting that it is the best. It includes me (ha.ha..). But honestly, have you thought anytime which could be the best and only book to read. Probably No.

It is the book of our own life. Does it sound funny? But yes, most of us haven’t gone through it with awareness. My life and its experience is important to me and your life and its experience is important to you. But what does the book of our own life mean ? I am putting some questions below. Just answer them honestly and you will come to know automatically:

  1. When you wake up in the morning, do you observe or feel your body or breath sensations ?
  2. When you brush your teeth, do you observe or feel the brush and toothpaste touching your teeth and gums ?
  3. When you take a bath, do you feel the water falling on your body ?
  4. When you walk, do you feel the sensation of your feet when it touches the ground ?   
  5. When you sit, do you feel the sensation on your buttocks ? 
  6. When you eat or drink, do you feel the sensation of your hand and tongue when the glass, food or water touches it ? 
  7. When you are surfing the internet right now and seeing my blog, have you observed and felt the touch of the keyboard or mouse ? 
  8. When you are having sex with your partner, have you observed and felt the sensations in your body and thoughts in your mind ? 
  9. Whenever you go for the call of nature, have your ever felt the sensations during release of the urine or excreta? 
  10. When you lie down to sleep, have you observed or felt the body sensation of touching the bed ?
  11. Have you  observed your dreams?
  12. When you are stressed or doing nothing, have you ever observed your thoughts? 
  13. Have you ever observed from where are the thoughts are actually originating? 
  14. Have you observed your breath pattern in love, anger, fear, depression, guilt and enthusiasm? 
If the answer is no, start observing and feeling each of the activities you are doing, but in a relaxed manner. Sant Kabir has said that all the problems and solutions are there in this five and half feet of our body. Slowly when you  start observing and feeling with awareness, you will come to know your real life essence.

Wisdom Pointer: Book of our own Life: Start awareness with body sensations and then gradually move to breath, thoughts, emotions(feeling) and in the end you will be with your real inner self which is peace or bliss.

Story - Where to search for Self


Initially when I began a quest to search for my real self, asking many people whom I thought may know it and will tell me the way, I was surprised that I was getting more and more confused and lot of fear had started descending on me. So this blog is for those who are in the same situation. The following story will give a glimpse of where to search for self.

A long time ago, there was a Sufi Fakir, Rabia. She was an enlightened one, but poor and staying in her old hut. Once in the evening she started frantically searching for something outside her house. Seeing her, some villagers asked, what are you searching? She said "I have lost my needle, which was my important possession". Seeing her, the other villagers also started searching. It was becoming dark and people were getting tired.
One of the villagers asked : Where have you lost the needle? If you can give us some hint, it will be easier to find. 

Rabia: Inside my hut

Villager:Then why are you searching outside?

Rabia: Because it dark inside, and because I am poor, I don’t have a lamp. I thought, as there is lot of light outside my house, I will search there.

Villager: Have you gone mad? Even if it is dark inside, the needle has to be searched in the hut only. It is pointless to search outside. We can bring some light, search for it and we will find the needle. You are really mad and made all of us mad also.

Rabia: Laughing. You are intelligent. Although you know that there is darkness inside (when we close our eyes), we are searching for ourself outside, where there is light. Just bring in a small light inside, and we will find ourself.

Wisdom Pointer: There are 3 pointers:
  1. We should know that we are searching in the wrong direction.
  2. Change direction within. Within means when we close our eyes, we see darkness, emptiness, formless, empty space or sky which is actually our live consciousness (Self).
  3. Light means the way/grace/know-how given by the Enlightened one or by our own inner spirit guide.

Unconditional Acceptance

Unconditional Acceptance (Choice-less Awareness) is one of the keys to lead a blissful life. But first of all we should know what it means.

About Thoughts:
  • Thoughts keep on coming to our mind continuously (average 60,000 in a day)
  •  Thoughts can be broadly categorized into Action thoughts and Non Action thoughts: 
    • Action thoughts are those thoughts  which leads to some physical or body action   (5 to 10 %)
    • Non Action thoughts are thoughts which do not lead to any action (95 to 90 %)
  •  Initially every single thought is a Non Action thought which may or may not be converted into an Action thought.
How to accept a thought unconditionally:
Suppose you are stuck in a rut, confused or not able to take a decision or want to take the best decision. Do the exercise given below to get a clear Action Thought.
  • Accept Favorable Condition
  • Drop Favorable Condition
  • Accept Unfavorable Condition
  • Drop Unfavorable Condition
  • Accept Favorable Person
  • Drop Favorable Person
  • Accept Unfavorable Person
  • Drop Unfavorable Person
  • Accept your body
  • Accept your mind
  • Accept your soul  
  • Drop that you are accepting
  • Take a deep breath and let go
Once this is done, our mind becomes empty and relaxed. The thought which comes after the above exercise will be the best Action thought. Unconditional Acceptance also helps to let-go those thoughts, events or person which is not in our control.

Question: Does acceptance mean to agree to everything which is wrong, bad, negative or unethical?

Answer: No. Unconditional Acceptance only helps us to be in the present by accepting (right or wrong, good or bad, positive or negative) everything as it is. Once we reach the present (now) relaxed state, we get connected with the existence.The action thought or decision following will be the best.

How to Drink Water


  1. Everyday, drink 2.5 to 3 liters of water. Water means only water and does not include any other liquid (milk, juice, etc.).
  2. Drink normal or lukewarm water only. Do not drink cold water as it kills the digestive fire in the stomach.
  3. Always sit and drink water. Drinking water while standing leads to acidity and sometimes decreases sodium in our body.
  4. Drink water via  a glass/cup and not through bottles directly.
  5. Slowly sip water so that saliva in our mouth gets mixed with it which is very essential. 
  6. Drink water 30 minutes before or after food only. E.g. If you are having lunch at 1 pm, then drink water before 12:30 pm or after 1:30 pm. Do not drink water between 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm because it will dilute the digestive juices secreted by our body system. 
  7. Keep both your hands on the glass of water. Say with feeling "I love you" or "Thank you" or "Clean my system" or anything positive to the water and then drink that water. There is a positive energy (Law of Vibration/Energy) flowing from our fingers into the water which makes the water healthy and tasty. It changes the "dimes" of the water.
  8. Drink less water during the night time as we may have to wake up for urinating in the night and may disturb our sleep.
  9. Some People who find it difficult to drink water at a stretch as they are not accustomed, can slowly sip water couple of times, say every 10-15 minutes. 
  10. Keep a bottle ready and drink from that in order to measure how much water you drink in a day.
