4 Pillars of Yoga / Pranayama

We will get lot of articles, audio and video about Yoga and Pranayama. This article is for those who know at least what is Yoga or Pranayama. The following 4 pre-requisites are very important to get quick and best results while doing Yoga / Pranayama:
  1. Will Power (“Sankalp”):  Start with a statement saying to yourself, stating exactly what you want.  E.g. “I am healthy, wealthy and blissful in all aspects of my life”. 
  2. Technique (Method): It is preferred to learn yoga / pranayama under the supervision of authentic teachers. Some teachers teach free and some charge money.
  3. Regular: Do it regularly. Once every day or twice every day, whichever suits you. Total 30 minutes to 2 hours in a day, either at one stretch or in two sessions (morning and evening). Do not do it at night (between 12 am to 3 am)
  4. Awareness: Awareness can be of breath, body movements, body sensations, external sounds or thoughts of mind. Awareness should be in a relaxed manner and not that of concentration. Just be aware and accept it as it is without analyzing, judging or evaluating it. 
Wisdom Pointer: Awareness  is the main key. We need to move slowly from Awareness of breath, bodyand  thoughts given above to Awareness of Self. If we follow the above 4 pillars, then we can attain a blissful life easily.
