This is Meditation - FAQ 4 - Important Concepts

Do read :

Q: Some Important Concepts about Meditation
A: Although meditation is our original state of our being which cannot be explained through words or concepts, a sincere effort is being made to point the same through some concepts:

§  Outer Space: It includes all the forms and the surrounding space perceived through our senses.

§  Outer World: It includes only those forms in Outer space with which we relate to actually or which we have practically experienced.

§  Inner World: It is the effect of Outer World in our body and mind.

§  Inner Space: It is the empty, nothing, formless[Shoonya][Nirakar] being which is the core of our consciousness. It is also called as Subjective Awareness.

Following are Three steps using the above concepts to be in meditation:

Objective Awareness [Dhrastha]:

This is the First stage of Meditation.

We become aware of our doings, sensuality, breathing, feeling, thinking, visualizing etc. It can be called as watching the circumference.  Observer is aware of their Inner World.

Total Awareness [Sakshi]:

This is the second stage of Meditation.

We watch our center as well as the circumference, watching our being as well as the happenings. We are generally aware of our doings as well as the watcher’s self, the being. Total Awareness is being generally aware of Outer Space, Outer World, Inner World and Inner Space.

Meditation (Meditative Awareness):

This is Meditation.

It is remembering (completely aware of) the undisturbed consciousness, a state of no mind or the no-man’s land between Inner World and Inner Space.

It is neither concentration nor contemplation. In concentration, mind concentrates. In contemplation, the mind contemplates. In meditation, the mind simply disappears.

Meditation is the process of coming to our self, leaving the body, mind and heart, everything coming out to a point where there is nothing to be eliminated. In Meditation everything is dropped, but we remain in an intense state of Awareness.

Meditation is journey from Objective Awareness to No Man's land between Inner World and Inner Space (Subjective Awareness).

Wisdom Pointer:

The important concepts are like  pointing a finger towards the  moon. Kindly see the moon(Meditation) where the finger is pointing to. Kindly do not get stuck to the finger(i.e. Concepts).
